Magic moisture mist

During the times of desperation to cool down what do you do? It's not always easy to jump into a cool shower or a cold pool - ever heard of a moisture mist ? Well, let me tell you why I love this moisture mist & the benefits of it compared to water - yes compared to water.

I have sensitive skin, leaning more towards dry-combination type majority of the year it's combination.
During the warmer weathers my skin becomes sticky and sometimes oily, if I am out in the heat my make up would budge especially when am out on a photoshoot - constantly building up make up does not look good most of the time, not to mention the clogging up pores has a massive afterwards effect. When the skin is hot you need to cool it down before it burns or becomes irritated.

I have tried various brands of a moisture-type mist sprays but this one is my number one. I love the unique filter it is, the dewy finish it gives my skin, the price, it's super long lasting, safe for my family to use, the shape of the bottle and most of all, the way it feels on my skin.
For 250ml it lasts me for a few months and I use it every single day from head to toe. I love using it after a shower and after my hair is washed, it makes my hair feel nourished when it's air dried. Very effective when I use the hair dryer - results are fabulous !

Nu skin has a moisture mist called NaPCA spray - it is my holy grail product all year round! I have been using it for over 2 years now, I take a bottle with me everywhere I go and it's wonderful when I go travelling especially when am on the plane - it can help eyes de-puff!

Pros:

• holds make up all day
• stops itching skin perfect for people with dry skin
• alcohol free
• scent free
• Suitable for men and women
• Leaves skin feeling refreshes
• Dries within seconds - no need to wipe off
• Contains hyaluronic acid
• unique filter that releases fine streaks of the product allowing it to distribute evenly

Con:

• only comes as one size over 100ml therefore cannot take it on the plane - I transfer it to a smaller travel bottle to use on the plane

This beauty contains HA or also known as hyaluronic acid which is a key ingredient in the anti-ageing world. It is an effective humectant that helps maintain ideal moisture levels, better than water hence why sometimes our skin dries after a shower and needing to apply a moisturiser. The moisture mist also contains  humectant sodium PCA which helps to stabilise the moisture levels on the skin.

Simple to use, just a simple spray across the face or arms or body, within seconds the product will dry and help restore that moisture loss on to the skin.
A lot of skin care products contain a mineral oil which is suppose to bind and support the skin, I did an experiment to see what the mineral oil actually does to the skin vs NaPCA moisture mist. By doing this I used 2 dried apricots from my local supermarket and soaked one bottle of bio oil and the other one with NaPCA. Results were amazing, within a few hours I understood why mineral oil was doing nothing for my skin vs NaPCA moisture mist helped restore the moisture loss in my skin.

These have been in the bottles for over 2 years now - why don't you try it yourself with nothing to lose?

If you're interested in purchasing this product contact me for more details, Nu skin products can only be sold by a Nu Skin distributor and I am one of them.
I have not been paid to review this, it has all been purchased with my own money and my honest opinion.

My acne and Eczema breakout!!

When I was born I suffered with eczema really badly up, the use of steroid creams really did thin my skin so bad which resulted into super sensitive to a lot of creams which meant my skin was always needing TLC. Up to late teen age, I only suffered with eczema whenever I was severely stressed which would mainly be my exam periods also winter times would be the worst as my skin is super dry and nothing seemed to work unless I applied something every 2 hours to my skin. I was so grateful when I learnt so much about skin products and knowing how to deal with flare ups.
During my teenage years I suffered with spots as well as acne - dark purple pimples, red raw skin, painful to touch and of course, itchy skin. I had really oily skin which was annoying as my acne and eczema got worse.

Anyone else have this problem?

sore face and irritated neck building up in the first month

Now I am in my late 20's I thought it all had stopped but recently in September I started to have the odd pimple, then it turned into dark purple pimples, started spreading and before I knew it, I realised it was acne again!! It's been so long since I last suffered with it and I was suprised I had it again. I then had a massive break out of eczema on my neck, from a diameter of 1cm spread across my neck. I didn't even notice it until people were pointing it out to me at work, I didn't feel any itching or pain, which means there was absolutely no irritation. My face ended up red raw with rosacea skin - it was so painful.

5-6 weeks after
A week later it all got worse, my acne had spread from my cheek to my jaw line, painful to touch and I stopped using my Galvanic Spa as it was so painful to even have the gel over my face. The eczema started to get itchy and I was travelling to Hong Kong and Japan which was a real climate change from England, sadly my skin suffered - BIG TIME. I mentally suffered too!!

To totally clear up this I used various products as well as supplementing myself to detox the toxins that was lingering in my body. I didn't feel 'unwell' as such and did not catch anything such as the common winter flu or cold ( like I use to but for the last 2 years I have been feeling GREAT) so this is a way of my body suffering from the inside.

For the outside of my body I used:

acne life saver set  - cheaper to purchase as a set to save a huge amount of money!
Previously I tried various acne friendly products but with the amount of alcohol and acids in them, it burnt my skin and wasted my time as well as my money. I decided to try the Clear Action set from Nu Skin as I heard so many good reviews as well as good results from photos of people who used it to clear their acne.

The set included a foaming cleanser, toner, day cream and a night cream. Each set lasted me just over 3 months and within 2 days of uses I saw and felt results. The little bumpy spots dissapeared! I was so excited to continued to use the set as I LOVED how my skin felt as well as seeing that my dark purple spots were dissapearing. This was an important factor to me because it proves to me something is happening rather than waiting because when you are suffering, time is an issue.

The clear action is a very gentle treatment system designed to help clear the blemishes you have now, fade the signs of past breakouts, and, most importantly, keep skin clear and vibrant for the future. Very easy to do and very effective results. I love how gentle the cleanser is when it's applied to the skin, it turns into a clear liquid when it's dried within 2 minutes.

Toner has a unique lid to prevent further bacteria feeding in your skin
The next step is followed by a toner, which has a unique lid pumping system so that no bacteria can access into the bottle.

The 3rd step is either a day cream or a
night cream, melts into the skin and looks after it whilst you sleep or work in the day.

For my eczema I used a blend of these 3 products together equal parts and stored it in a pot.

* this hand is not mine but someone else who had great results
  •  Perennial - IBR-Dormin, Kukui nut oil and meadowfoam seed oil, Garcinia indica (kokum) seed butter- gives you super moisturised skin without the greasy feel on the skin,
  • Firewalker - Cordyline Terminalis & Orbignya Phalerata - works deep into the skin to repair the damaged layer of skin to stop the spreading
  • Enhancer - containing aloe vera, Panthenol & Hyaluronic acid -super moisturiser to repair the broken skin and calm redness

As for the inside of my body I have always been on my Lifepak multivitamins, (I stopped taking them for a few weeks then this flare up happened along with other factors like stress) , I never again want to stop taking my multi vitamins as they are what's protecting my immune system. I was also taking R2 to deeply cleanse but I found it wasn't doing anything other than give me more energy. I decided to try Reishimax as the active ingredients help to fight the natural killer cells from the body. I felt like this was the last option for me and I was right!! It helped!! after about 2 weeks of taking this my eczema cleared up and m acne was very less visible, I was so relieved!

free from eczema!!

So to conclude this post, I went through a lot not to mention my confidence level was much lower as I have always looked after my skin but when I did stop taking my supplements - my body lacked nutrition and whilst I Was dealing with a lot of stress factors it lead to poor sleeping patterns  sleeping 4 hours max per night/day) which lead to poor diet and I needed a deep cleanse as well as new supplements to the largest organ - my skin. If you know anyone who is going through anything similar and have tried lots of alternatives but nothing has worked - please let them read this post and feel free to message me.  I would LOVE to help people realise there is another way out of this!

Thank You

Tip for hayfever sufferers!!

For those of you who own a facial galvanic spa machine, have you ever wondered how you can clear your sinuses? It's really simple!! Simply add some Epoch Ice Dancer onto the side of the nose area, apply the clear treatment gel and then use the straight-ish lined galvanic head and straight away you feel the soothing feeling from the 'ice dancer' .

It's very effective and you would use a small amount of the 'ice dancer' gel plus the clear treatment gel on top of the skin and magic happens!!!

Nu Skin vs Aveda - my top shampoo of the year

Hair care is as equally important as washing my face or moisturising my skin from head to toe. I intend to grow my hair down to my knees and now that it's being looked after from root to tip, I believe I will reach that goal sooner than I think!

Why? Well, after trying various brands of shampoo's, conditioners, hair masks, hair sprays , hair oils, treatments, I have same problems after a short period of time and even though I take my multi-vitamins, I still do get the off fall outs. I wash my hair every single day, even though they say its bad for you, its always been a priority for me ever since I was a kid. Working in a hospital environment and having my hair done for photo shoots kills my hair strands so of course I need to look after it well.

Take a look at my previous blog post for more pictures including the amount of fall outs I have in just 2 days! Do you have that problem too?

Did you know that as you age, your hair follicles reduces its diameter hence why we have thinner hair as we grow older - this can be due to many factors including diet, lack of vitamin absorption, pollution, stress AND the products we use on our hair, so looking after it now will prevent you from having thin hair or going bald whether you're a male or female.

Throughout last winter I used this shampoo by Aveda, known for using natural plant extracts and natural oils to help maintain the hair and ' professionally developed, clinically tested, and go to exceptional lengths to be respectful of the earth. '

Aveda can be found in most department stores such as Selfridges, Debenams, House of Fraser, as well as salons and some hair boutique stores. It can also be purchased online.

After receiving samples from Aveda counter, I decided to buy the full price bottle for £20.50. I bought 2 bottles in total as I wanted to use it for at least 2 months.

There is 200ml of the product and having use this every day, I finished 1 bottle in about a month and half as a little goes a long way.

The scent smelt like herbs but didn't last on my hair, which I wasn't too bothered about because I found the scent of the shampoo abit too over whelming as it smelt like I had worked in a chinese herbal shop all day!

The consistency was thick and it did slide off my fingers very quickly in the shower which meant it would end up on the floor, not in my hair. I was quite disappointed by the lotion as it was £20.50 I felt like I had wasted some of this product if I wasn't careful enough. I learnt from this mistake anyhow and continued to use this but to pour out the product slowly into my dry hairs then onto my wet hair.

I didn't notice much of my fall-outs reducing even after using it for over a month, but I did notice the hair felt thicker and more wax-like in terms of texture. After air drying it, the scent of the herbs remained in my hair but if I was to blow dry my hair, it felt slightly sticky and thick at times and I can assure you, I did wash it thoroughly.

The lid is a push-down top lid which means the lotion can be squeezed out the bottle.

It promises to:

  • Cleanses, exfoliates and renews the scalp with wintergreen-derived salicylic acid.
  • Clinically proven to remove the build-up of sebum and product residue that can clog pores and affect healthy hair.
  • Nourishes dry, tight scalps with extracts from millet seed and milk thistle, equalizing the lipid balance.
  • Contains densiplexTM-an invigorating blend of Ayurvedic herbs, including turmeric and ginseng.
  • One of 7 groundbreaking products honoured with Gold-level Cradle to Cradle certification.

VS

The exfoliating shampoo deep cleanses the scalp to remove debris and buildup in the follicle

I was recommended this Clarifying shampoo to try and I saw the active ingredients - totally intrigued. If you are a hair freak or work in the hair profession - you must check this one out!

For £16 there is 250ml of product in the long tall bottle with a flip lid on top.

I used this everyday for the first 7 days (due to curling, hair spraying and backcombing) then 2-3 times a week after that if need be and its lasting me just over a month, in fact I am still using my first bottle. I tend to use this more when my hair goes through a lot of damage such as heat appliances, hot sun, backcombing and hair prep from photo shoots I recently did.
The beauty of this shampoo is you can feel that your hair is loved from the first use and now my hair feels so much fuller, thicker in each hair strand and shines. My split ends are taken care of and I can continue to grow it.

It promises to:

On day one, Nu Skin® Clarifying Shampoo provides a deep clean without stripping the hair of natural moisturisers for renewed manageability. By day seven, hair actually feels stronger. Formulated with shea butter seedcake extract, this powerful cleanser attaches to build-up - including nicotine, chlorine and environmental pollutants - and washes away the signs of ageing. Your hair will feel clean, shiny and manageable after just one wash.

The consistency is thick but once it is applied to the hair, it sinks in. I love it when it is massaged on my scalp, it feels very minty and revitalised. It turns into a foam on the scalp but not as thick as soap, which means it doesn't leave the hair feeling sticky but only to gently cleanser overworked hair.

The main active ingredients:-

•    Cotton Bloom Extract - smoothes the cuticle, protects the keratin structure and moisturises naturally with seven actively synergistic oligosaccharides.
•    Shea Butter Seedcake Extract (butyrospermum parkii) – acts as a detoxifying agent to remove chlorine, heavy metals, nicotine, exhaust, gas and other environmental pollutants.
•    Nettle - cleanses hair and helps control sebum production.

To conclude this, my ultimate favourite is definatly the Nu Skin Clarifying shampoo because after seeing the results within 7 days using a small amount, I didn't have the results from the Aveda shampoo until after a week and the texture of my hair was very sticky whereas the Nu Skin shampoo smoothed my hair making it more manageable - this is without the use of a conditioner so imagine what my hair would be like with the use of a conditioner or a hair mask?!

Long term wise - buying 2 bottles of each, definatly saving more money on the Nu Skin Clarifying shampoo and longer lasting. My scalp feels moisturised and the hair is loved from root to tip, it rediscovers my hairs strength which I lost ever since I was in my late teens as my hair went through a lot of hair dye, straight perms, curlers, straighteners. Now I am keeping it all natural & growing it mega long for my big day!

Suitable for all ages and highly recommended to those who put their hair through a lot of stress or people with thick and hoarse hair.

Latest beauty haul!

WOW I haven't added a blog entry for SO long! I guess I have been busy lazy and abandoned my blog, fear not, I am back!!! I have actually missed writing and adding photo's so I shall endeavour to make more of an effort! Due to busy schedule with my jobs, I guess this has been my last place to leave my thoughts!

So... ANYWAYS.... my latest beauty haul includes all these items from Nu Skin. I have been wanting to try the whitening toothpaste for a while now, just finished my stock of Colgate Total and I said to myself I would try this whitening one as it's one of the worlds bestest whitening toothpaste you can get! Very intrigued as I wanted to have my teeth whitened but scared due to the harsh chemicals and my teeth can be quite sensitive at times so this is a safe option for me!
I bought a face essentials guide as it would benefit me in what I can recommend to my clients as I haven't tried absolutely everything in the Nu Skin range, probably only 1/4 of the entire store but I love what I am using at the moment in the ageLOC range. I also got some more of my ageLOC gels for my face & body galvanic machines preparing my body for the summer!! Planning on holidays from May onwards so am working on it now! Otherwise I just wont do it!  It's always easier said than done right?
Of course I got a bottle of the moisture mist, which is my absolute holy grail! Each bottle is 250ml and it lasts me about 2 months which is a real bargain price at about £15 per bottle! Just love love the stuff!! Will be blogging about it soon!!

See you guys real soon!

2 weeks of intensive treatment looks like this on my hips

Ok, just to clarify, this is what my current hips look like and I have NOT touched it for over 5 weeks now. I solely did this on purpose to demonstrate how powerful ageLOC is with the use of the body galvanic

AgeLOC is very exclusive as it gets right down to the source of the 'problems' by identifying the youth gene clusters, and changing the expression of it. It's not treatment or creams layering on your skin and you hoping for a miracle, I have the results to show what it did to me.

I bought the body galvanic as a treat to myself for my birthday this year and I initially used it for my legs. After a 12 and half hour shift of hardly sitting down, running around like a mad-women, it helps to relax my legs and draw out the swelling.

You can use the body galvanic anywhere on the body from shoulder down to the feet, it's not recommended to use anywhere upwards as the face galvanic works on the head and neck. The body galvanic works 10 times deep into the skin tissues therefore very effective for those with problems like cellulite, stretch marks, 'love handles' , bingo wings, varicose veins.

The device has only one button, you just switch it on and off, it's very simple to use.
It works 5 minutes at a time and once the 5 minutes is up, it will beep to tell you it's done. You can continue for a further 5 minutes or switch it off. There is no confusion in more than 1 button, it didn't even confuse me lol!

To activate the machine you must apply the ageLOC body shaping gel to the area, as this is your treatment to deep into the skin. By using your body currents, the machine helps to activate the treatment into the skin and you just massage the machine lightly over the problematic area. Please note, this is a pain-free treatment, I did intially expect some sort of pain but it's very simple to use.
After 5-10 minutes of treatment, you apply the ageLOC dermatic effects cream to the area, it helps to make the skin feel and look smoother, whilst increasong cellular turnover, which is necessary for returning skin to its natural radiant texture.

Okay, this is what you're all waiting for and here it is.....

30 minutes treatment in total over a period of 2 weeks
In just 2 weeks I used it 6 times, 5 minutes each on my right hip.  This is to compare results to the left hip that hasn't been body galvanic'ed. As you can see, the results are amazing, and that was  over 7 weeks ago, I show people my hips to prove how powerful ageLOC is and how effective it is. I even went on holiday and sunbathed like this, so that is why there is a bikini tan line under my over-hang.  My hips don't lie , clearly they didnt !

For every individual it is different due to your skin texture, ageing process and your genes but an intense 8 week treatment there will be results you could never imagine.

If you have any further questions, feel free to let me know!

ageLOC products can be bought in 53 countries world wide, if you're interested to buy, send me an email and I can register you up straight away!

Ever suffered with allergy reaction from unknown lotions?

I have recently suffered an allergy reaction to a body lotion which kind of suprised me because the product was meant to be soothing for the skin but having very sensitive skin, can still have reactions.
During the colder seasons my skin all over my body begins to show reactions a lot more than warmer seasons. I use to have severe eczema, I was at the doctors every 2 weeks getting creams, dermatologist reviews and it really did have a major effect on my confidence.
I don't have eczema anymore as I have got right down to the source of the problems but I do have rosacea on my face and it does happen on my thighs, stomach and arms even when I am wearing long layers to cover up.  It's so painful to touch especially when it comes to washing my face or shaving my legs , the skin feels like it's on fire and it's unbearable at times!
Having a skin reaction makes me feel so unhappy because it hurts and looks horrible! totally knocks my confidence.
Due to the environment in work in, I have to washed my hands at least 50 times a day with the foamy soap and water, I am not a fan of using soap nor the strong alcohol gel but I did cover up the affected area with a sterile dressing then let it breath at night when I sleep.
the start - redness and sore
I work as a nurse most times and due to infection control, we have to use soap and water after every patient contact, therefore I have to be very careful of what lotions I use on my skin and making sure it is looked after the best as it can be.

However, I used a lotion and just after a few times this was what happened......

day 2

This was what I used on my hands, after about 3 uses my skin began to hurt, the skin felt so tight and itchy and it stung so badly, then the bumps showed up.

day 2 - 3

I had the bumps on my hand for about 6 days before it actually calmed down. I used my Hyaluronic acid spray to calm down the redness, perennial to deeply moisturise it and also enhancer to stop it from spreading. They are the main treatments I use when it comes to any skin problems I have.

After 2-4 days it calmed down to this. It's not as visible as before and the bumps are still there but the redness has definitely calmed down and it's not itchy anymore.

I used 3 products to help the hand calm and resolve. They are all from Nu Skin ,
Moisture Mist Spray, Perennial moisturiser and Enhancer Gel

  • I used the moisture mist spray to help lock in moisture as my skin felt so sore and tight, whenever the skin has a reaction it loses its hydration levels and causes the tightness feeling then show signs of a reaction. I also use this to set my make up and lock in moisture before I sleep by spritzing 2 spritz before bed.
  • using the Perennial moisturiser it helps the skin to reinforce the skin's natural defence mechanisms protecting against dry air, cold climate and wind. Fragrance-free. Safe and gentle for all skin types, including sensitive like mine. This is great for all over the body all year round.
  • the Enhancer has a cooling sensation when it's applied to the skin. The clear gel melts onto the skin absorbing deep into the epidermis, great for any soreness or burns, also for pre-post shaving for men!

day 6

after 7-9 days
If you suffer with skin problems such as rosacae, or eczema with sensitive skin type then you may want to consider this as an option.
You can only buy Nu Skin products from a distributor and I am one of them. Send me an email with your skin problems and I will get back to you with recommendations.
The photos are all my hand, not editted.
Thank You for reading my ramble!

Nanoblur Review

£19.99 sold at Boots.
We all want miracles for our skin to make us look younger and flawless skin but what do we use or do to achieve that? One product that has been highly raved is this Nanoblur cream and it claims to work in just 40 seconds!! madness!! But I tested it and here are my thoughts!

Nanoblur is a corrector product, used by celebrities such as Cheryl Cole. You either love this or hate this depending on what you can handle on your face.

It is sold in Boots which is a known drug store in the UK, and some high end beauty stores but very rare to find. There are actually 2 versions of this item available, one is the original Nanoblur, and the newer edition can help boost hydration of the skin. This is entirely depending on your skin without the use of any products, will help you decide which one to buy. I have the original item, also my skin varies depending on the climate and products I use on my skin, generally it is dry/normal.

30ml of product

To use:
Apply foundation on the face after your 3 step routine (cleanse, tone & moisturise) then apply the Nanoblur over.

It promises to:

Look up to 10 years younger in 40 seconds or less. This advanced optical cream erases the appearance of skin ageing, lines, wrinkles, crow's feet, sagginess and enlarged pores within seconds without any tint. Essential for meetings, events and dates.

Ingredients:

Water / Aqua / Eau, Adipic acid/Neopentyl Glycol Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, VP/VA Copolymer, Cyclohexasiloxane, Sodium Acrylate/Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Amodimethicone, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Isohexadecane, Polysilicone-11,  Polysorbate 80, Citric Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol.

Pro's:

  • tube sits upright on the lid which means gravity helps the lotion come out of the tube
  • fills in the lines on the face
  • fills in lines/pores
  • suitable for male or female
  • fragrance free
  • consistency is smooth like a primer
  • has a 90 day money back guarantee
  • can be worn with or without make up
Con's:

  • doesn't work with every single foundation
  • not suitable for sensitive/dry skin
  • does not make my skin look younger
  • not a primer
  • makes the face look cakey
  • sticky texture
  • no SPF
  • no expiry date on the tube
  • when the product is dried, it's actually flaky!
  • product is too highly raved
  • no clinical tests have been provided
Some people would use this as a primer but it actually isn't, it is more of a corrector.
The texture of this is thick and can be smooth on the skin but it is very sticky and not easy to blend.
I tried this on it's own on the back of my hands and on my face to compare the texture result. I blended it with my BB Cream, tinted moisturisers, and foundations at photo shoots but the skin looks thick and the product ruins the smoothness of my skin.
I have tried :
  • using the nanoblur before applying any make up
  • using the nanoblur on top of my tinted moisturiser/foundation
  • mixed liquid tinted moisturiser with nanoblur
  • leaving the Nanoblur to set on my skin for at least 40 seconds as instructed to get the best results.

But sadly, it made my skin feel heavier, blocking the pores, whitening the face,  however, it did take away the dullness of the face and giving you the younger look by giving the skin the illusion of smoother surface but what does it actually do to your skin underneath?!

You can clearly see the thickness of the Nanoblur when it's blended into my skin
I really dislike the consistency of the product on my face, it literally just sits on my face before or after foundation, and for someone like me who doesn't use liquid foundation but either powdered foundation or tinted moisturiser, this product does not mix well whether it's applied before or after.

I have tried this product in the colder seasons, warm seasons and humid weather, it is far worse in the colder seasons as it makes my skin feel super tight and it is so painful to wash off so I stayed away from it during those climates.

There is no expiry date printed on the product tube therefore you don't know when it needs to be used by or how long you can store it for. Sometimes, products are just left on the shelves and sold at a much cheaper price when it's past it's expiry date! It defeats the object of buying the product as it won't work the way it is advertised so am always conscious of that when it comes to buying products - abit like when you buy food, you need to check if it's in date or not!

Here is my face after I have moisturised my face with SPF moisturising cream as Nanoblur contains no SPF and that's one thing I always look for in a skin product.

Personally it works with no make up on , as it does minimise my enlarges pores but that's about it!
From the first time I used this, it was a disaster but I did continue to use this with different ways of applying products before and after the Nanoblur. I find it doesn't work with any other product including moisturisers which is my major let down as there is no SPF with this product so my skin isn't protected at all!

Here is the Daily Mail article about this product! Quite interesting......

Here I have applied the Nanoblur onto my face before my tinted moisturiser, the skin looks smoother and looks whiter. It doesn't make the skin oily but it does feel thicker and definitely know there is a heavy product just sat on my skin which I dislike!

The instructions on the tube are inadequate. I followed them and found the product too mattifying and lightening for liquid foundation but perfect for mineral makeup?! I disagree!

It claims to make my skin look 10 years younger, my skin was almost flawless at the point of using this product anyway and to make it look 10 years even younger would make me in my teens as I am in my 20's. Total madness as the the claims are pretty outrageous. and I don't expect to look any younger than 18 really! But the idea of looking 10 years younger really did intrigue me!

Here I have applied the Nanoblur, then my tinted moisturiser, as you can see, there is a streak of colour on my cheek, and that was from the Nanoblur not mixing well. In real life, my skin was blotchy and sticky! It felt like glue was on my face and it can be abit tricky to wash off!

I guess this product would work for some and the rest it wont work, one of which is me. I have tried different methods of applying this before/after foundation/tinted moisturiser/foundation powder/no make up.
I was disappointed that it did nothing for me other than make me dislike the product, I followed the trend from celebrities and tried it myself and here is the result!

I won't be purchasing this again, infact I still have a lot of the product left and want to sell it!! If anyone is interested for a fraction of the price - email me!

Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser Product Review

Tinted moisturisers are a mixture of foundation with moisturiser but, the consistency is not as thick as a foundation, it depends on which brand you are using because some can be the same or heavier. It typically provides light coverage with the aim to be more lightweight than your regular foundation.
I don't like wearing foundation and haven't used foundation that much in my entire life. I never did believe in using foundation to cover up my flaws, I always believed in skin care more as it is the foundation to good make up for the face. Some may disagree but at the end of the day, I go to sleep without make up on and I want to make sure my skin is as good as I can get it.

Laura Mercier offers quite a wide range of colours for a lot of skin tones and is classes as a high-end brand as it is sold exclusively in known department stores such as John Lewis's, Selfridges, House of Fraser and Debenams as well as online on the website.
Laura Mercier believes in natural colours in make up, which is why she created the flawless range which includes a  collection of colours for tinted moisturisers and foundations.

I decided to try the tinted moisturiser as it's been popular for a long time and it's always highly recommended on youtube, magazines and people who have used it.
There are 2 choices of tinted moisturiser, one is for oily skin and other is for normal/dry skin. I bought this during spring and I know my skin tends to be oily when the weather starts getting warmer so I thought oil free option was best for me. I don't like knowing the product has oil and will be sitting on my skin for 8+ hours per day, it can cause break outs and blocked pores.

It promises to:

  • give skin a healthy ‘no-makeup’ look with a soft hint of colour that evens and enhances without hiding the skin. This oil-free lightweight formula provides ideal protection from the sun’s harmful, damaging rays with broad spectrum SPF 20 UVB/UVA sunscreen. Perfect for all skin types, especially sensitive or oily skin.
For £33.00 there is 50ml of product in a long plastic tube.

There are 15 shades available and the assistants at the counter can always help you to find your perfect shade.
For me, Porcelain is a little bit too pale and nude is a little too warm so I picked nude which is slightly more golden but once my skin absorbed some sun, the shade was perfect.
Did you know that when you apply SPF to the face, and when you take photos with a flash, the face is lighter? This product contains SPF 20 and it made more sense for me to buy the shade that was a little darker than lighter as I take photographs all the time and I want to make sure my skin looks as natural as possible.

The screw off lid is based at the bottom of the tube, and the tube can stand on the lid which means the product can be easier to come out of when you dispense it out. However, when it comes to almost the end of finishing this tube, it doesn't stand upwards anymore so you really have to give it a good shake and roll the tube to get the product out.

I did enjoy using this tinted moisturiser at first, but then it became too thick for my face, it felt like my pores were blocked and you do need a top up during the day. Even with powder on top and mist spray to lock in the colour doesn't help. I find that when my face becomes oily, it becomes patchy therefore not reliable. Am not usually carrying my make up for top ups but I cant go out too long without realising the product strips from my face.
I work long hours (most of the time 12+ hours) and I can't rely on having a smooth flawless look with this product.

Pro's:

  • 15 shades of colour
  • contains SPF 20 which is difficult to find
  •  gives a natural glow
  • available in pink and golden undertone shades which is very important to me as it's not often I find my perfect golden undertone shade
  • contains no alcohol
  •  matte finish
  • buildable coverage
  • no oxidation
  • evens out skin tone and hides flaws
  • quite a hydrating formula

Con's:

  • consistency is too thick, it sticks to my make up brush and stains my clothes
  • strips off my face after a couple of hours which means I need to top up the product on my face
  • consistency too watery and dribbles onto my clothes
  • quite expensive for a product that doesn't suit me well
  •  the scent is quite strong, especially when you squeeze the product out of the tube. I had this experience since my first use and it put me off using it

I have a sheer-medium coverage from this and it does not oxidise straight away, however, the colour does strip off after a couple of hours, especially when its warm. I am a NC30-NC35, which is a golden undertone, the nude colour shade is perfect for me. However, during cold season, it hydrates my skin well but not entirely, purely because the consistency is thick.

It hides my dark spots and redness giving me that smooth natural look. I would not recommend this for people who have large red spots as it will not cover that, this is a tinted moisturiser, not the same as a foundation.
This gives me a dewy finish, matte and natural, but it does become oily on my skin therefore I would not recommend to use this in hot weather.

I have used a stippling brush for this as well as my fingers but it becomes too messy and stains inside my nails. It stains my brush and I have to wash it every single day (which is what I should be doing anyway but am a bit lazy sometimes! aren't we all?! ) but the best technique for me would be to use a stippling brush such as the ELF popular strippling brush.

I personally would not be purchasing this product again because it hasn't made me feel like it's my holy-grail and it's not really benefited my skin as much as I expected. As you can see from my pro's and con's, there are more con's, and sadly it hasn't been my favourite tinted moisturiser that's lasted. However, I am glad I got to try this to see what the hype was all about, sadly it just isn't for me!

Epoch Glacial Marine Mud Nu Skin Product Review

Mud masks are very effective in terms of deeply cleansing your epidermis, which is your top layer of skin that you can see. Good mud masks extracts impurities that may or may not be visible to the naked eye, and helps to rejuvenate your skin to stay healthy.

People may see open pores on their face and not realise that they are opened and always collecting bacteria from the environment and it lives in your dermis, which is skin deep and can form spots, blackheads/whiteheads/pimples - dirt basically! I hate knowing how much dirt is trapped under my first layer of skin, hence why I do weekly mud masks as well as using my Galvanic Spa to really help draw out the impurities and giving my face that healthy glow it deserves!

I use to think it was so strange that people use mud masks, until I understood what was actually contained in these mud masks. Epoch's Glacial Marine Mud is in fact fortified with over 50 naturally occurring elements and minerals, including zinc and sea botanicals. This glacial variety is naturally cultivated to be highly absorbent for a cleansing experience that exfoliates and brightens. This powerful, yet gentle, formula is safe for every day and all over use including the back. For people who have large pores on their back and are afraid to show their back, this would help to deep cleanse and prepare for smaller, closed pores giving you the confidence to wear backless tops/topless!

I have tried quite a few different brands and they each feel different on my face, and giving me different results. For example, some break me out real bad and makes my skin so oily, my skin isn't usually oily either! Sometimes it takes more than one application to know it isn't doing me any favours so it all does take some time to love them or hate them.
I have experienced redness as well as tightness on my skin just after a few minutes of applying the mud mask, therefore I find it difficult to trust using another mud mask again! Especially if they are expensive and claim to give you maximum results, it's even more annoying when you can't get samples so you have to trust their word for it, which is what everyone does!

For £25, there is 200g of product in this tube of product. What I love most about this product apart from the results, is that the mud mask dries up so quickly and you don't need to apply a thick layer to your skin, essentially, the tube would last me longer to keep as I am using it 1-2 times per week and a little really does go a long way.

Pro's:

  • flexible tube stands upright which means gravity allows the product to come out from the bottom of the tube, making sure you get the most out of your product
  • flip top lid
  • a little goes a long way
  • quick drying time, less than 2 minutes you can see it drying, it changes colour so you don't need to keep touching it
  • washes off easily, no peeling or cracked effect
  • amazing results after it is washed out, skin is immediately smoother, refreshed and visible deeply cleansed
  • suitable for face and body
  • Safety-allergy-dermatologist tested

Con's:

  • consistency of the mud mask is quite watery so shake the bottle before squeezing it out the tube
  • the scent can be a little strong is you have sensitive smelling but it does wear off
  • stains clothes/fabric!

 Ingredients:

  • Sea Silt*, (Water) Aqua, Algae Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben.
    *Glacial Marine Mud®

Some of the more than 50 skin-beneficial minerals featured include:

    • Copper - helps improve skin strength, cutting down on fragility.
    •  Zinc - helps modulate oil production and also aids in skin healing.
    • Magnesium - a necessary component of the skin’s natural energy cycle.
    •  Silver - aids the skin’s antimicrobial activity.

If you have problems with large open pores, and have tried millions of things to try get rid of them but don't work, then I highly recommend this mud mask! Not only does it give your skin a clear finish, the natural ingredients absorbs excess oils, exfoliates your dead skin without harsh rubbing and deeply cleanses deep down into your pores.

There is no heated feeling as some mud masks can give you that feeling that it is working deep down into your skin but this one doesn't. It dries up and does the hard work while you relax.
mud mask working hard whilst I relax
As you can see, my impurities would be in my cheeks - nose area, the mud mask works hard by deeply cleansing the open pores and you can see from (my disgusting) picture that it has absorbed the excess oils and impurities. I have never experienced that from a mud mask before and seeing it believing, this one what I love about this product!
This was my skin 2 weeks ago, break outs under my chin area, redness, open pores, discolouration.

after 2 weeks of using the Marine Mud  Mask
This is my skin a week later after using this 4 times and after I have washed the mud mask off. I haven't applied any serum or moisturiser to my face, and it feels refreshed!

after I have washed the mask off - super soft feeling!

After my first use, I couldn't stop touching my face! The texture of my skin feels so super soft, refreshed and well looked after! The redness had calmed down, the pores were closed and instantly I could see my skin was a lot brighter.

It is absolutely essential for me to have clear skin as I do a lot of commercial modelling work and the last thing I want is skin that reflects on my immune system. I have a relatively good amount of nutritional intake including 2-3 litres of water per day with my vitamins and minerals. When I don't get as much sleep and travelling here, there and everywhere, dealing with high levels of stress and working in terrible pollution environments, my skin takes its toll! It's quite sensitive and when it comes to modelling, a lot of make up is slapped on my face (because that's how it works) and it can really harm my skin. I wouldn't say I spend a lot of time on my skin, just a quick few minutes of preparing per night before bed, usually letting the products set on my face so it's not really me doing the hard work - it's the products. The right products would do an excellent job and only you can see and feel the difference it makes which is why it is important to find out the active ingredients of each product I purchase/use.

I use this 1-2 times per week in between my Galvanic Spa , I use this after my shower, before bed. I apply it to my cleansed face, a generous amount all over my face avoiding the lips and eyes. After about 20 minutes the mud mask dries up and becomes a light aquamarine colour, it hardens slightly and does not crack, that is when you know it is ready to be washed off with warm water, then I use cool water to splash on the face to close the pores. I then moisturise to keep the skin feeling moisturised. Seeing really is believing with this mud mask!!

I would recommend this product to all males and females, it's a great gift idea and real bargain for money! Love this product and would definatly repurchase!
