Nanoblur Review

£19.99 sold at Boots.
We all want miracles for our skin to make us look younger and flawless skin but what do we use or do to achieve that? One product that has been highly raved is this Nanoblur cream and it claims to work in just 40 seconds!! madness!! But I tested it and here are my thoughts!

Nanoblur is a corrector product, used by celebrities such as Cheryl Cole. You either love this or hate this depending on what you can handle on your face.

It is sold in Boots which is a known drug store in the UK, and some high end beauty stores but very rare to find. There are actually 2 versions of this item available, one is the original Nanoblur, and the newer edition can help boost hydration of the skin. This is entirely depending on your skin without the use of any products, will help you decide which one to buy. I have the original item, also my skin varies depending on the climate and products I use on my skin, generally it is dry/normal.

30ml of product

To use:
Apply foundation on the face after your 3 step routine (cleanse, tone & moisturise) then apply the Nanoblur over.

It promises to:

Look up to 10 years younger in 40 seconds or less. This advanced optical cream erases the appearance of skin ageing, lines, wrinkles, crow's feet, sagginess and enlarged pores within seconds without any tint. Essential for meetings, events and dates.

Ingredients:

Water / Aqua / Eau, Adipic acid/Neopentyl Glycol Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, VP/VA Copolymer, Cyclohexasiloxane, Sodium Acrylate/Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Amodimethicone, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Isohexadecane, Polysilicone-11,  Polysorbate 80, Citric Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol.

Pro's:

  • tube sits upright on the lid which means gravity helps the lotion come out of the tube
  • fills in the lines on the face
  • fills in lines/pores
  • suitable for male or female
  • fragrance free
  • consistency is smooth like a primer
  • has a 90 day money back guarantee
  • can be worn with or without make up
Con's:

  • doesn't work with every single foundation
  • not suitable for sensitive/dry skin
  • does not make my skin look younger
  • not a primer
  • makes the face look cakey
  • sticky texture
  • no SPF
  • no expiry date on the tube
  • when the product is dried, it's actually flaky!
  • product is too highly raved
  • no clinical tests have been provided
Some people would use this as a primer but it actually isn't, it is more of a corrector.
The texture of this is thick and can be smooth on the skin but it is very sticky and not easy to blend.
I tried this on it's own on the back of my hands and on my face to compare the texture result. I blended it with my BB Cream, tinted moisturisers, and foundations at photo shoots but the skin looks thick and the product ruins the smoothness of my skin.
I have tried :
  • using the nanoblur before applying any make up
  • using the nanoblur on top of my tinted moisturiser/foundation
  • mixed liquid tinted moisturiser with nanoblur
  • leaving the Nanoblur to set on my skin for at least 40 seconds as instructed to get the best results.

But sadly, it made my skin feel heavier, blocking the pores, whitening the face,  however, it did take away the dullness of the face and giving you the younger look by giving the skin the illusion of smoother surface but what does it actually do to your skin underneath?!

You can clearly see the thickness of the Nanoblur when it's blended into my skin
I really dislike the consistency of the product on my face, it literally just sits on my face before or after foundation, and for someone like me who doesn't use liquid foundation but either powdered foundation or tinted moisturiser, this product does not mix well whether it's applied before or after.

I have tried this product in the colder seasons, warm seasons and humid weather, it is far worse in the colder seasons as it makes my skin feel super tight and it is so painful to wash off so I stayed away from it during those climates.

There is no expiry date printed on the product tube therefore you don't know when it needs to be used by or how long you can store it for. Sometimes, products are just left on the shelves and sold at a much cheaper price when it's past it's expiry date! It defeats the object of buying the product as it won't work the way it is advertised so am always conscious of that when it comes to buying products - abit like when you buy food, you need to check if it's in date or not!

Here is my face after I have moisturised my face with SPF moisturising cream as Nanoblur contains no SPF and that's one thing I always look for in a skin product.

Personally it works with no make up on , as it does minimise my enlarges pores but that's about it!
From the first time I used this, it was a disaster but I did continue to use this with different ways of applying products before and after the Nanoblur. I find it doesn't work with any other product including moisturisers which is my major let down as there is no SPF with this product so my skin isn't protected at all!

Here is the Daily Mail article about this product! Quite interesting......

Here I have applied the Nanoblur onto my face before my tinted moisturiser, the skin looks smoother and looks whiter. It doesn't make the skin oily but it does feel thicker and definitely know there is a heavy product just sat on my skin which I dislike!

The instructions on the tube are inadequate. I followed them and found the product too mattifying and lightening for liquid foundation but perfect for mineral makeup?! I disagree!

It claims to make my skin look 10 years younger, my skin was almost flawless at the point of using this product anyway and to make it look 10 years even younger would make me in my teens as I am in my 20's. Total madness as the the claims are pretty outrageous. and I don't expect to look any younger than 18 really! But the idea of looking 10 years younger really did intrigue me!

Here I have applied the Nanoblur, then my tinted moisturiser, as you can see, there is a streak of colour on my cheek, and that was from the Nanoblur not mixing well. In real life, my skin was blotchy and sticky! It felt like glue was on my face and it can be abit tricky to wash off!

I guess this product would work for some and the rest it wont work, one of which is me. I have tried different methods of applying this before/after foundation/tinted moisturiser/foundation powder/no make up.
I was disappointed that it did nothing for me other than make me dislike the product, I followed the trend from celebrities and tried it myself and here is the result!

I won't be purchasing this again, infact I still have a lot of the product left and want to sell it!! If anyone is interested for a fraction of the price - email me!

Matte Nails

I just LOVE matte furnishing's on anything!! cars, tables, plates, books, nails!! I just think it's such a clever idea to have matte nails!!

It gives it that extra classy and sophisticated look and I love the feel on it on my nails! I can't stop looking at them! lol!

It's so simple to do and the results are amazing!!

You can use alsorts of colours and patterns and them making it matte afterwards simply by using a matte polish over the top of your nails.

I decided to use this hot pink colour as a base, perfect colour for the summer!!

34 - Mauva Flash

You can use any colour you wish, any brand, at any price. It doesn't need to be anything expensive but be aware that cheaper polishes can damage the nails and cause staining! Make sure you use a good polish remover too!

This polish was from a UK drugstore called Superdrug which can be found in every city or you can purchase online.

£1.99 from Superdrug ,t here are a choice of colours and a huge choice of brands.

This is the magic formula by China Glaze, it was a gift from one of my youtube friends Emily, she got me this when we did a swap a few years back!

I don't often paint my nails but my toe nails I do quite often but when I get the chance I do paint my nails.

Different brands do the matte polish in their collection, which allows you to have different effects, prices do vary but I would recommending getting a good branded polish because some may not be as effective as others, and drying time can take longer which means you are more prone to it smudging!
What I did was I ensured my nails were filed to the shape I wanted. My nails are naturally long and squared tip so I just tidied them up abit by using my manicure set.

I then applied the pink polish on top of my nails, using 2 coats on each nail, it gave my nails the look I wanted.

Once the nails are dried and not wet looking, I applied the magic matte clear polish over my nails, using just one coat on top of my nails and allowing it to dry would give me the perfect matte finish.
If you take a look at the index finger, the nail is matte and the rest are shiny. This is the matte effect.

beautiful matte finish
Here is the finished look!! The colour is still bright not but shiny!

Have fun guys

What Is Night Cream?!

Not everyone understands the use of night cream or heard of night cream - I was one of them until I was about 22 years old. The price would put me off and there are so many options in terms of brands in every single drug store, I didn't know if a night cream was even necessary? Now I know and I want to share with you why it is important to use one!

I use to think that by applying a thicker layer of a moisturiser would do the trick, or perhaps just applying some after sun on it each night would help protect my face from the harmful UV rays my skin has been getting from the day time. I then went on to research about what night creams can offer me and decided if it was really necessary? I soon bought night cream and just used it waiting for good results, some worked and  unfortunately some didn't. I broke up in spots, acne, skin was more oily and some patches were still dry. Annoying, because I thought all night creams would make the skin become its best it can!! obviously not.

which night cream should I go for next?

I enjoy using night cream because it really looks after my skin when I sleep, research shows that, "night time is the optimal time to maximise existing natural processes that occur in your skin. It is more receptive to ingredients that will help restore and revitalise its appearance. " (Dr. H. Maes, Ph.D, Vice President of Global Research & Development at Estée Lauder)

When you sleep, your skin becomes dehydrated, we sweat (even if we don't see it) which is very important because your cells enter a state called Osmotic Shock and they may die. We need to make sure our skin is hydrated with the right products so we don't wake up to dry patches or flaky skin. NO matter how much oily products you add to the skin, it wont solve the dry patches. Applying a night cream can help your skin to be replenished and hydrated and do the hard work whilst we dream away.....

It is vital we find the right products to use at the right time, to obtain maximum results and feel confident about our skin. When we use the wrong products that don't work with our skin, we develop a reaction to our skin, telling us it's not agreeing to our skin, such as a rash, spots, redness.

Of course, we need to be fully hydrated during the day, sleeping the correct amount of hours, having a balanced diet and protecting our skin day and night, otherwise we end up with flaky, fatigued, unhealthy looking skin which can cause you to have aged premature skin and difficult to manage.

make up free skin, ready for bed....

"The skin regenerates three times faster at night than during the day," explains Julia Fauchet, trainer at Lancôme. Cellular renovation activity reaches a peak between the hours of 2am and 4am. The skin recuperates more effectively during this time, thus the importance of boosting this high reparative activity.
I find it difficult to keep my body clock in sync as I do day and night shifts, but I always ensure I am using my night cream when I sleep so I let the product do the hard work whilst I am resting.
I always apply night cream at least half hour before I sleep as it absorbs better.
If you are not sure which night cream to use then check out the ingredients and ask what it offers you in terms of it's promise.
I recommend alcohol free creams and ones with natural ingredients such as aloe vera or vitmain E.

Superdrug Samy Fat Hair Thickening Shampoo & Conditioner Product Review

My hair use to be thick but due to stress and bad health, it has thinned out a lot over the years and I really do miss having thick hair again *sigh* We always want what we can't have don't we?
I try and buy hair thickening products to make it thick because for me, I think my hair is boring. It's so flat and lifeless, but straight and shiny.

One of UK's famous and easily accessible drugstore is Superdrug , you often hear UK beauty/make up guru's talk about this store. They sell the majority of the make up brands, skin care at affordable prices - they don't sell the designer items though. It's very family friendly. I remember when I started getting pocket money, I use to love going in Superdrug because it had so much choice and items for me to test out and discover!! Was defiantly a childhood favourite store and still like going in there nowadays!

I chose to buy this shampoo and conditioner set because it was sulphate free, and it was to thicken the hair. I have been cutting down on buying sulphate hair products for the past year or more because the sulphate damages the hair and can cause hair loss and that isn't what I want.

Each bottle is £5.59 and they are 300ml each which would last me for a good 2-3 months.
I wash my hair every single day so I go through bottles of hair products quite quickly!
Also my hair is very long so I need to look after each strand of hair hehe!

It claims to:
  • thicker, fuller, stronger, healthier looking hair.

Pro's:
  • affordable price for a big bottle of shampoo/conditioner to last for atleast 2 months (depending on how often you wash your hair and the length of your hair)
  • makes the bathroom look interesting with the bright red bottles living in there
Con's:

  • makes my hair so sticky after washing it out
  • the lotion is thick gel like and it does not sit in the hair well, it just glides off
  • the scent reminded me of soap and I don't favour that in my hair but it didnt last long in my hair which was good I suppose!

I used both the shampoo and conditioner together to get maximum results, I even tried to use different shampoo/conditioners to see if it would make my hair any different but unfortunately it didn't. Infact, it made my hair feel very unmanageable and uncomfortable.

The lotion comes out from the top of the bottle which means you would need to tip the bottle upside down, when it comes to using it at the very end, it would be abit diffficult to get every last drop out! unless you fill it with some water then shake it all out!

Sometimes there are offers on this range like buy 2 for a certain price or buy one get one free. It is also usually a huge sell out so it is difficult to get hold of sometimes.

Unfortunately I won't be buying this again, I bought the whole range to try but they didn't give me the results they promised so no point in repurchasing again. I couldn't wait to finish using the shampoo and conditioner to be honest!

I also bought the hair wax, volumising moose and spray hold. If anyone is interested in buying them off me then let me know! I would be happy to sell them at a discounted price!

Schwarzkopf got2b Heat Spray Product Review

I quite like using Schwarzkopf products for my hair, it feels soft and more manageable. I have tried the shampoos, conditioners, and volumising sprays for my hair, they all have strong scents to it, some pleasant, some too strong for me.
I don't often had problems with my hair, it's hardly oily/greasy, dry or tangles, the only problems I have is that the hair goes lighter in the sun and also I have split ends as I am growing it out. I do trim it every few months myself and maintain it's length as best as I can.

I air dry my hair majority of the time, my Grannies and mom always tells me not to air dry it as it can give you headaches, I have always done it as a kid and I don't suffer from headaches. I have some friends who have got to blow dry it straight away and they say they get headaches if they don't but for me, it's quite the opposite.

I blow dry my hair if I am in a rush to go out or go to bed. I really really dislike blow drying it because it dries my hair out and it takes me about 25-30 minutes to blow dry it as it is so long, I also try to give it a break every 5 minutes to let the hair cool down. I also try using the cool air option but it makes my face so cold and I feel too tired from it lolz so I try to avoid it!

I use heat protecting hair sprays to protect my hair from using heat appliances and prevent having more split ends and also so the hair does not dry out as quick. I also spray the hair spray before I head out into the sun (if we get any that is). The last thing I want after being in the sun, is my hair to break or burn.
If I use my GHD's to curl my hair or hair curlers, I always make sure I thoroughly spray my hair with heat protecting spray. Just imagine using 180-260oC heat on the hair without protector? You can smell the hair burning and the hair actually is falling apart!!!

I bought the Schwarzkopf got2b Guardian Angel to try as it was advertised everywhere!! I love the bottle shape, the pretty design, I couldn't wait to have it in my bathroom lol.

For aboutt £4.10 you get 200ml of the product which lasted me about 2 months which is quite cheap over the period of about 8 weeks. I have long hair which means I tend to use hair products quicker than others with shorter hair. I use about 5-6 spritz of spray each time on my hair from top to bottom.

If you are like me, who love playing with the hair then protecting it is also an important task, especially when
The product comes out from a pump spray at the top, I don't favour this pump because the product comes out unevenly. I use the spray after I wash it, when my hair is wet, I spray it on my hair then I use my fingers to distribute it evenly as possible.

Pro's:

  • cute design bottle
  • budget friendly
Con's:

  • the product does not disperse evenly from the pump
  • made my hair feel abit sticky
  • the smell is very strong even after the hair is dried
  • made my hair feel damaged further
  • not available in all supermarkets or drug stores
This product claims to protect the hair up to 220oC, am not sure how much of this I can believe as I have seen and felt the results on my own hair. If I use my GHD's or hair curlers then it is set to 220oC maximum so this is a great spray to use if it really does protect the hair up to 220oC.
I won't be purchasing this product again, I could see that it damaged my hair even more. My hair would feel and look a lot dryer than if I didn't use it, and it damages my hair which defeats the object of using it.
