Nu Skin ageLOC Transforming Night Cream

Night creams are a must-have in my skin care regime! Why? Simply because it is like food for my skin whilst I sleep.

I recently wrote a post on 'What is night cream?' and the main benefits of using a night cream in your skin care regime, click here to see .

Applying night cream before I sleep is like brushing my teeth before bed. It's a must-do and if I don't, I can see the difference. My skin is nourished and recharged when I do apply night cream before bed, especially if it is a good night cream!!

It's very important for me to have manageable skin when it comes to my daily life as I am constantly meeting people, and doing my modelling work therefore presentation is an important factor to me.

I have used tonnes of night creams, various brands with various promises and textures of the product but how do I know which one is the best for me? Well, if it doesn't make my skin feel tight, not too heavily scented, not too oily for my normal/dry skin, one that doesn't contain alcohol then I have more confidence in using it!

I discovered this Nu Skin night cream early on this year when I started using the Galvanic Spa back in March-April. It is from the ageLOC range which is very cleverly created by the top scientists, the entire range has been my ultimate number 1 favourite range of skin care I have ever used. I love the benefits of each product, without harming my skin, I can see why it is so exclusive, even Gemma Shephard (celebrity stylist) and Emma Forbes have saluted to it as it is their favourite skin care range.
I have been very fortunate to meet Gemma Shephard in London at an exclusive Nu Skin conference, where she talked about why she saluted to Nu Skin and the fact that she loves the ageLOC range. I felt very exclusive to have the ageLOC range in my life.

I love how this rich-formula blends into my skin smoothly and leaving no trace of grease or tightness to my skin. I am very weary of how my skin feels without half an hour of application, usually this is the amount of time I have to decide about the cream. This also gives enough time for the product to set into my skin.
I always apply my night cream at least half hour before I go to sleep. This is so my skin is fully hydrated and rejuvenated, making sure that it is doing it's job right otherwise why else would I purchase it in the first place?

Each jar contains 30ml (1fl. oz.) of product.

This product is aimed at those who are wanting to prevent wrinkles and fine lines, male and female.

I apply a thin layer of this Transforming Night Cream to my index finger (photo shows how much to use) and dot it around my face, avoiding the eye area. I then use both hands to gently massage it into my face and neck in an upward and outward motion. This lets gravity help my skin to be uplifted and the lotion sinks into the skin within 30 seconds.

Mine has lasted me for at least 3 months as a little definitely goes a long way! People seem to think that by applying a thick layer means the product would work better when you sleep? no it doesn't! Too much can do the opposite so don't be tricked into using too much product!

It's about quality not quantity, you seriously don't need to apply a huge amount of product onto your skin/face to ensure its promises are correct. You are doing more damage to your skin that letting the products benefit you in the way it promises.

Just a small amount can make the difference to how your skin/face is. When we get small samples at counters, you don't get much do you? no! and this is because a-little-goes-a-long-way, as well as it could end up being wasted. Every ones skin acts differently in differently environments, times, climates, diets, etc. Therefore it's a matter of trial and error and understanding how the skin works in different climates, seasons and changes.

I like the way the expiry date is printed on the back of this jar!
For me, I have different skin care regimes when the weather goes from one extreme to another. For instance, when it's warmer, spring-summer I have oily skin but can be dry in the evening time, so I use less of a toner and a more rich moisturiser for day and night, my SPF is a 35+ to protect my face from having dark spots.  Also a mud mask once a week and a face mask in between, also use my face Galvanic 1-2 times per week to deeply detox my skin and not having as much black heads on my nose.
During the colder seasons in autumn-winter, I use vitamin C based products, SPF 15 day cream, face lightening products to lighten my dark spots which have grown since the summer. I use my face Galvanic 3 times a week to fully detox the skin and prepare for spring-summer for a much healthier glow.
I first tried the ageLOC range since I discovered the face Galvanic in January 2013. I researched about it and watched a lot of youtube videos, read testimonials and could see a huge difference in people's skin. I decided to use it and loved the results.

I then went on to research the ageLOC range and was very intrigued by the ingredients as well as the benefits. I then purchased the Transforming Night Cream. During my first use, I was very much in love with the rich formula, it doesn't just sit on the surface of the skin but it absorbs so smoothly and doesn't tighten my face or make it feel oily at all. To me, that is very important as I trust the product to do me wonders whilst I sleep and want to wake up to good skin! Who doesn't? I also tried some at the back of one hand to see the difference and I liked how smooth it felt, and the texture of my skin was different to the other. The one with the cream looked more radiant and moisturised, the next morning it looked more youthful and I knew this cream was my holy grail!

I love how this cream does not block my pores, I notice a huge difference in the colour and size of my pores when I wake up. Applying pore minimising serum doesn't always help it, I have to wait for it to dry and other products to unblock them and deeply cleanse them out, can't be that good for my skin. Luckily my face Galvanic Spa deeply cleanses them!

  • a little goes a long way, this pot of 30ml cream has lasted me 3 months now, and there is at least another 3 weeks of daily use left.
  • In reality I am spending £15 minimal a month for a night cream which really works! This is a long term investment and very important to me.
  • Professionally presented in a thick glass jar, presented in black and white packaging

  • neatly presented in it's own box, or if you buy the ageLOC Elements kit, it comes in a presentation box.
  • sinks into my dry/normal skin and hydrates it without any redness or rash like I have experienced in the past
  • skin is smoother after it is dried in my skin - this is very important to me as I don't like the feeling of sticky products sitting on the surface of my skin! Who does?

Con's:

  • jar is quite heavy but overall, the material used for the presentation is high-end
  •  does contain a scent (fragrance in the ingredients list)
  •
So far, this is my ultimate favourite night cream I have ever tried and I have highly recommended this to everyone who has the same skin combination as me, male or female. I love the fact that I have an excellent product on my skin and knowing it is working on my ageing DNA, I have never come across any product out there which has the scientific facts behind their products. I want to prevent myself from having wrinkles now before it gets too late!

Graisset Liquid Eyeliner Product Review*

Thanking Graisset for this amazing opportunity to review another one of their products!
I have also had a previous opportunity to review one of their skin care ranges, Graisset Repair Moisture Range back in winter-spring this year.
Graisset is very exclusive to buy outside of Korea due to the Korean law and you cannot buy from a seller unless they hold a licence and have permission from the company, therefore I was very greatful to have this opportunity.

I first discovered Graisset last year as one of my best friends was using one of their skin care collections, after seeing how pretty the packaging was, I was intregued by their collections.
I was contacted by a legit Graisset seller in Hong Kong to review this eyeliner.

I must admit, I don't wear eyeliner anymore, I use to line my waterline and my upper lash line to create the illusion of thicker top lashes but now that my lashes are longer, I decided to stop using the eyeliners.

There are 2 things I look for in an eyeliner, first would be the darkness/pigmentation of the colour, and secondly would be how long it would last for on my eyes. I sometimes would use the liners to create tattoos on my body or create 'beauty spots' which change my look dramatically!

We all use eyeliners in differently ways, I like to make good use out of mine.
You can do a lot of art work with eyeliners, crazy but true! I love creating tattoos with templates and liquid eyeliners.
Just by using a liquid eyeliner, you can create different looks on your eyes

The box presentation is very neat and high-end feel, a real gift idea for someone who likes make up whether they use it often or not.
Bronzey-gold colour cardboard type box neatly presented, I was very intregued to see what the product would look like!

The text on the box is in Korean, which is very exclusive for the beauty market outside of Korea.

This is priced at $168hk

Isn't this beautiful?
I love the gem at the top of the lid and the gold colour tube. It's not often you see luxurious packaging for an eyeliner! Especially in England!!

It weights 5g/018oz of product.
I have mine in black.

I like the shape of the top half of the bottle, it's non slippery smooth golden coloured casing helps me to precise my line. This is very important to me as I hate re-applying and wasting time on clearing up messed up marks and causing redness to my eyelids. Does anyone else have that problem?

can create thick or thin lines

I used the liquid eyeliner on the top lines only, and as you can see I have created a slight thick cat liner and applied eyeshadow on the bottom and outter corners of my eye to create a dramatic effect.

I love how I can create the sharp defined look on my eyes, usually I find the liquid liners to smudge and consistency too wet to set, then when I blink, it smudges and sets!!

Pro's:

  • can create lines as thick or thin as you want
  • intense black
  • beautiful packaging and box also - ideal for gift

Con's:

  • not waterproof
  • can smudge, takes a while to dry
  • slight scent (but not strong enough to smell it once it is applied to the skin)
  • exclusive product and brand, can only buy from certain Korean stores or Korean cosmetic high end beauty stores in Asia
  • unavailable to buy in England

Thank You Graisset for the product to review! It's been a wonderful and kind gesture for me to use and share my honest opinion.

You can pay via paypal if you live outside of Hong Kong, shipping will be arranged from the seller.

Fashion Friday: Big Framed Glasses

Tired of people staring at your puffy, dark, tired eyes? You can minimise this and stop people from telling you how tired your eyes look!
I don't often have dark circles around my eyes but when I do, wearing less make up on the eyes is definatly better than wearing more make up on the eye area because it doesn't become more noticeable and damaging to the eyes. Wearing more make up on the eyes when you are tired can actually make it look far worse than it actually is! Of course, the first thing we initially want to do is to apply more make up on the eyes to try hide the dark circles or the puffiness, but it does your eyes no favours!! It can cause infections and irritation, which can be hard to treat!

I wear big frames glasses to eliminate my tired eyes, it's also for the purpose of a fashion accessory which is a bonus as it completes my outfit for the day.
I have 3 pairs in total, 2 are non perscription ones , and one other is my perscription glasses for reading - I have been wearing glasses since I was a young teenager. No one really knows because I use to hate wearing glasses but now I make them look like a fashion accessory!! LOLZ.

Big frames glasses can accentuate the look of the day, they say the highest point of a women is the eyes - so make it stand out!

You can chose different shapes, styles, colours and textures of these fashion accessories, I love my black simple ones and also my leopard print ones as it's one of my favourite animal prints!

I wear my glasses with and also without the lens, it doesn't really matter. Sometimes my long eyelashes would scratch the lens so I have to clean them often or take out the lens.

There are a lot of celebrities who wear the big framed glasses on a lazy day, I wear it at times when I dont wear make up and just a pop of colour to the lips can make the look natural and girly!

You can dress up or dress down with these, add abit of funky style by hanging them on the top of your hair or on your collar of your top. I like to wear mine on the top of my hair to hold my hair back as it's long. I think it looks super cool as an effortless look!

I prefer to wear bigger framed glasses as I like to see through them without seeing the frame half way through each lens! It's annoying! Don't know if that's just my preference though?

I wear my big framed glasses all year round, I try avoid wearing them in the summer time as I don't want tan lines, having tan lines on my face is the last thing I want! Don't forget to wear your SPF!!

Applying a primer before your make up can help prevent your make up from smudging when you wear glasses.

Have fun!

What Is Night Cream?!

Not everyone understands the use of night cream or heard of night cream - I was one of them until I was about 22 years old. The price would put me off and there are so many options in terms of brands in every single drug store, I didn't know if a night cream was even necessary? Now I know and I want to share with you why it is important to use one!

I use to think that by applying a thicker layer of a moisturiser would do the trick, or perhaps just applying some after sun on it each night would help protect my face from the harmful UV rays my skin has been getting from the day time. I then went on to research about what night creams can offer me and decided if it was really necessary? I soon bought night cream and just used it waiting for good results, some worked and  unfortunately some didn't. I broke up in spots, acne, skin was more oily and some patches were still dry. Annoying, because I thought all night creams would make the skin become its best it can!! obviously not.

which night cream should I go for next?

I enjoy using night cream because it really looks after my skin when I sleep, research shows that, "night time is the optimal time to maximise existing natural processes that occur in your skin. It is more receptive to ingredients that will help restore and revitalise its appearance. " (Dr. H. Maes, Ph.D, Vice President of Global Research & Development at Estée Lauder)

When you sleep, your skin becomes dehydrated, we sweat (even if we don't see it) which is very important because your cells enter a state called Osmotic Shock and they may die. We need to make sure our skin is hydrated with the right products so we don't wake up to dry patches or flaky skin. NO matter how much oily products you add to the skin, it wont solve the dry patches. Applying a night cream can help your skin to be replenished and hydrated and do the hard work whilst we dream away.....

It is vital we find the right products to use at the right time, to obtain maximum results and feel confident about our skin. When we use the wrong products that don't work with our skin, we develop a reaction to our skin, telling us it's not agreeing to our skin, such as a rash, spots, redness.

Of course, we need to be fully hydrated during the day, sleeping the correct amount of hours, having a balanced diet and protecting our skin day and night, otherwise we end up with flaky, fatigued, unhealthy looking skin which can cause you to have aged premature skin and difficult to manage.

make up free skin, ready for bed....

"The skin regenerates three times faster at night than during the day," explains Julia Fauchet, trainer at Lancôme. Cellular renovation activity reaches a peak between the hours of 2am and 4am. The skin recuperates more effectively during this time, thus the importance of boosting this high reparative activity.
I find it difficult to keep my body clock in sync as I do day and night shifts, but I always ensure I am using my night cream when I sleep so I let the product do the hard work whilst I am resting.
I always apply night cream at least half hour before I sleep as it absorbs better.
If you are not sure which night cream to use then check out the ingredients and ask what it offers you in terms of it's promise.
I recommend alcohol free creams and ones with natural ingredients such as aloe vera or vitmain E.
