TonyMoly Floria Whitening Sheet Mask Review

If anyone has been to Asia buying skin care products from department stores, you get freebies to try out their latest products! I enjoy using TonyMoly's products and favour in their skin care as I feel they like my skin.
I was given this freebie (and a bunch of other goodies) upon my recent purchases from the brand.

I enjoy using whitening products recently as I have alot of uneven skin tone and dark spots from the sun.
Since this mask is a whitening face mask, I was excited to try it!

I personally use atleast 1 face mask a week and have been since I was in my early 20's. For me, face masks are very beneficial to the skin, they help my face's hydration levels, brightens the skin and helps my uneven skin tone! All masks are for different reasons but whitening ones are a must-have!

It claims:

  • Youthfully radiant skin and blooming face made by magically pure and whitening prism of Floria

 Result:

After washing my face, applying my usual cleanser and toner, I decided to use this mask as my skin was looking so uneven and needing TLC.

I left it on my face abit longer than the stated time ( recommended 10-20 minutes) , I usually do leave it longer to get the most of the product out of my masks.
My face looked brighter, and more even. Texture wise - my face felt sticky and ater massaging the product into my skin , it still felt sticky!
It has a slight hint of scent to the mask but it didnt bother me. I cant relaly make out what the scent was! Sorry!

Pro's:

  • The actual mask has alot of slits around, which helps to adhere to the face so there are less air bubbles between the skin and mask.
  • Mask sheet is fabric-like and texture feels smooth and cool for the face
  • good result

Con's:

  • face mask didn't fit around my entire face which means I wasn't getting the most of this product onto my face.
  • product is sticky even after it's massaged into the skin
  • hard to find this product to buy -  it was given to me as a freebie!

I would purchase this again as I like the results! definatly did brighten my skin even the next following day. However, I don't think it is a major miracle for me and I dont like the sticky texture on my skin afterwards!
I am glad I got to try it though! Thank You TonyMoly!

DIY Spikey Boots

Spikes are very in-trend and have been for the last 2-3 seasons!
It brings out a funky, rock chick look to any outfit, sexy but defined and a bit boyish.

I like lots of detail to any accessory to any outfit, the more plain but more detail makes the whole look very interesting. I love buying little bits and pieces and adding it to my garments and making the garment look more 'me' . These pieces are worth keeping!

I personally cant walk in heels much, I have an arched feet, wide and long toes. It's very difficult for me to find shoes that are comfortable and match my outfits.
I use to walk in heels all the time, 5 inches wouldn't be a problem for me, however I developed a very awkward arched feet then bad back problems so had to ban all heels and stuck to flats. Went to see a professional chiropodist who advised me to not wear flats as it caused more damage to my back than I think. Guess what? she was right!! I started wearing slight wedged heels and my back aches improved and no more complaint of pain!!

A lot of shoes were very pretty with the spikes and sequins and crystals but guess who couldn't wear them? ohhh yesss... so what I did was I bought 2 pairs of plain shoes from New Look and tested the water.

I wore these shoes every day that I could for about 2 weeks and I slowly got use to them. I felt great, confidence was high and loved matching outfits with these wedges.

I then decided to decorate the second pair with spikes which I had purchased from Hong Kong.
Love DIY and being creative makes me happy!! I then started to decorate these shoes with the spikes and it cost less than what these type of shoes retails for in shops!

Unfortunately due to the material of these shoes, the wedge had actually come off the actual shoe so had to bin them! Luckily I still have my spikey ones, which I daren't wear as often, only special occasions as it took me quite a few hours to decorate these!

Oh-So-Pretty

Trendy

Gothic

Sexy

Dangerous

Great look for a fraction of the price! These type of shoes can retail for about £80+ but total price or these cost me about £40 which is half the price (not including labour but made with love!) .

Always becareful when making incisions on garments or accessories! I did cut myself a few times , if you're not capable of using tools then nicely ask an adult to help you who can help you!

Have fun!

Tony Moly Syn-ake Venom Face Mask Review

Syn-ake Venom facial masks are very popular in Korea due to it's award winning anti-wrinkle compound based on 'syn-ake peptide' which is similar to the venom of Temple Viper Snake. This compound works in a manner similar to Botox to relax tight skin muscles that create wrinkles.

Facial wrinkles accumulate after years of activity by the 60 muscles you use to smile, frown and form all your other facial expressions. As the muscles grow stronger they pull your skin together into folds the way drapes gather along a curtain rod. Syn-Ake, and the better known Botox, reversibly relax those muscles by paralyzing them. While this allows your skin to lay smoother, it also takes away much of your ability to form facial expressions. It is claimed that alto of celebrities use these products, including Victoria Beckham, Cheryl Cole, Kate Moss.

It may sound scary but it is definitely a luxury beauty product! With it's huge sell out in Asia, it is not easy to get hold of these.
I have tried a few different brands, including ones from SaSa, skin chemists, but my favourite is this Tony Moly one. ( They also do a snail slime one) . There are variou products/brands out there who claim to have syn-ake peptide in their products but which ones really work? I suggest this face mask from Tony Moly.

It claims to:
  • firm the skin
  • improve anti-ageing
  • enhance skin hydration
  • improve the skins elasticity
  • smooth skin and reduce wrinkles by inhibiting muscle contraction
  • intensely repairs skin after one treatment

how to use:

after cleansed and toned skin, apply this to the face. Leave it on the face for about 15-20 minutes, gently remove it and massage the liquid into the face to let the substance absorb into the skin.
Recommended to use twice a week.

Inside the thick plastic-like packaging, there are several sheets.

2 sheets for the face and 2 sheets of see-through plastic to protect each face mask. Hence why each packet weights 25g/0.88oz!!

As you can see, the mask itself has a delicate texture to it.
The material is thick, weighs abit heavier than the ordinary face mask sheets I am use to using, but it hugs onto the skin tight making sure the substance is stuck onto the skin.

There are 2 sheets , one for the top half of the face (forehead to nose) and one for the lower part of the face.

The one I have on here is for the lower park of the face.

The size is quite generous.

Leave it to set 15-20 minutes, let the magic begin!

This does have abit of a smell to it, but it isnt too strong.

Pro's:

  • can see the skin is uplifted and hydrated after one use
  • professional looking packaging

Con's:

  • can be pricey - but worth the money to see great results!
  • the material can rip if its not handles delicately
  • packaging is quite heavy if you are carrying more than a few in your bag

Ta-Da this is the result of my skin after it was taken off!

I have been using this face mask for the last 3 months, of a weekly basis and love the results!
To have great skin, you must learn to understand what to use on it and be patient.

These can be purchased from Korea or ebay! They can retail from about £20 per sheet.

Benefit - They're Real Mascara Review

Okay, so this mascara was released last year and I am not one of the first to write this review, but I wasn't going to purchase this for a number of reasons.
In a way I am glad I did purchase it and glad I had tried it but it's not my absolute favourite mascara but the results are quite amazing!

I can see why it is Benefit's no.1 best selling product! The results are very visible and it makes me say ' ohhh they're real ' after I apply it to my lashes!

I have had compliments about my lashes after using this and all thanks to this beauty, the results are noticeable!

My lashes are long, thick and stubborn at times, for me, if I don't use a good waterproof mascara, my curls don't stay curled.

It really does make such a difference if I don't use a waterproof mascara, the oils in the waterproof mascara help the curls to maintain it's shape whereas the non-waterproof mascara contains water so it straightens my lashes even if I have curled them for more than a minute! so annoying!!

My hair is naturally straight, if I curl my hair and not add any oil based product, it falls back straight again, quite annoying, especially if I don't like piling my hair with tonnes of hair products! my eye lashes pretty much do the same thing.

So to put it to the test, I tested the mascara for a day without using a base on the lashes. No primer and no other mascara either. The only thing I did before applying the Benefit mascara was curled it like I usually do.

Using the zig zag motion to get to each and every single piece of hair from the root of my eyelashes, I coat the lashes with the mascara.

I like the way the brush had these tiny spikes in shorter and longer lengths, which help to coat each lash with the wet mascara.

Quite alot of the product is embedded in between the spikes which helps to coat the lashes well. However, I do find this mascara to be too wet for me which clumps my lashes after 2 coats in the same place like the bottom of my lashes.

The tip of the wand isn't actually a spiked ball like the Loreal Telescopic mascara or the Givenchy Phenomenon mascara. It's not a full spiky ball but it does help to reach to the corners of the eyes most times. For those who have shorter hairs in the outer and inner corners of the eyes, this will clog up your lashes.

After one coat of this to my lashes, my lashes are transformed into luscious long lashes and very visible! I love long lashes, opening up the eyes is really important to me.
However, sadly this mascara is not waterproof and it doesn't come in waterproof edition which means my lashes don't stay curled!

It comes in one size, gunmetal packaging making it look like a strong sophisticated mascara but to me, it doesn't give me maximum results.
The packing looks fun just like the other Benefit products! Looks nice in my make up bag!

For £18.50 it is quite expensive for a mascara, but classed as a high-end beauty item. The results are visible and would work better for those with thin lashes.

I found that I benefited more from this product by using a waterproof mascara as a base, then applying this to the ends of my lashes. Not the root as it became too clumpy but the ends definitely extended my lashes.

From my photos here, I used just one coat of my favourite mascara which is the Maybelline The Falsies waterproof mascara , and then one light coat of the Benefit mascara to the tip only, otherwise the whole lashes would become too thick and clumpy and it wont look natural.

Using the waterproof mascara helps the lashes to stay long and curled all day long and the lashes wont fall down as they lashes are sealed.

Pro's:

  • gives you long luscious lashes with a very visible lift using just one coat
  • fun packaging
  • black colour is quite dark making the lashes visibly long
  • waxy thick formula coats each and every single hair
  • innovative with the bristles on the domed tip, which allows for more precise separation of the lashes
  • available in all Benefit counters and online

Con's:

  • 0.3oz (8.5 g Net wt. ) may not last for long if you use more than 2 coats every single day at a time
  • not waterproof
  • comes in one colour only
  • the end of the mascara isn't a spiky ball to get to the corners of the eyes
  • abit tough to wash off

2 coats of just the Benefit ' They're Real ' mascara

it's too spidery for my liking! but still so long and dark!

here is my video to watch with demonstration!

Pancake Tuesday!

It's pancake Tuesday!!

I have never made pancakes of a pancake Tuesday before and I like being creative and cooking so I decided to make this!

After making a home made fish pie for the first time in my life, it went well!! After a savoury meal (or every single meal) I have got to have some sort of dessert! This was my ideal satisfaction, with natural goodness and skin benefits I couldn't say no!

Plain heart shaped flavour and chocolate flavour, summer berries, pure natural honey and sprinkled it with icing sugar!
I used melted chocolate and a sandwich holder stick to do the lettering and heart on the side of the plate!

It took me about 2 hours lol!!! They did taste great! and am not just saying it because I made it! ha!

Palmers Cocoa Butter With Vitamin E

This is my winter cream holy grail! I use this every winter for my hands and body, it really works! With time I saw good results.

Vitamin E is like double moisturiser for the skin improving the skins texture, colour and elasticity - if you use it regularly that is!
I enjoy using this during winter months, my skin is dry, red and it hurts to touch. This helps ot keep the moisture in my skin and improve elasticity which is very important for me as I like my skin to look good as well as it feeling good.

I found that after using it for about a month, I saw results after. It's not a product that gives you miracles over night so be patient and use it religiously atleast once a day.

The bottle that I have is pink one, limited edition for Breast Cancer. Usually it comes in a white bottle but I wanted to donate some money to Breast Cancer care so that's why I bought this one!
I have also tried the small bottle of hand lotion, I put it in my handbag and it's so suitable for topping up when I run out.

Palmers cocoa butter claims:
  • smoothes marks
  • tones skin
  • diminish stretch marks - this product is always recommended to pregnant women to be used during and after pregnancy.

We all have stretch marks (if you're lucky lol), I have them on my inner thighs, they are very visible, white and annoying! I always dread wearing shorts or bikini bottoms because the stretch marks are so visible! This lotion has helped the lines to be less visible and soothes the skin without feeling oily.
Pro's:
  • really does hydrate the skin immediately without feeling oily
  • thick moisturising lotion sinks into the skin quickly
  • really does reduce the appearance of stretch marks and tones the skin with regular use
  • the lotion comes out the squeeze top lid, which means near the end of using your product u can just sit the bottle upside down to get most of your lotion out
 Con's:
  • can be pricey in most supermarkets (£5+ unless on offer)
  • does not improve scars
  • smell is very strong of cocoa butter but if you like it then you wont have a problem with it. The smell lasts on your clothes for a few hours also

I have also tried the Palmers lip balm, which is very moisturising for the lips! If you are a fan of this product and want a very moisturising lip balm then I would recommend you to try Palmers one. You can find it in most drug stores. Also you can check out their website Palmers website and check out what products they have available.

How I Look after my skin during winter time

One thing I dread every single year is the cold winter months! Spending most of my childhood in Hong Kong and being use to the hot humid weather is something I love and ever-so grateful for!

I use to go to Hong Kong ever Christmas eve and spend my christmas there but since I started university, I have been spending my christmas in England.

It is strange that I still don't like the cold weather and cant say I am totally use to it, because I still moan about it all lol. However, I do try my hardest to look after my skin to maintain it's maximum! It includes a few more routines and products every day and night, and it really does pay off at the end of the day!

Some people think I am crazy for spending so much time and money on my beauty skin care regime but prevention is cure and who is going to thank me when I am older but looking younger? You can only save yourself at the end of the day so I better start now before it becomes too late!
I started looking after my skin at a very young age! I have really bad eczema since being born and the smell of steroid cream reminds me so much of being in hospital and eczema! Having itchy and uneven skin was a complete nightmare for me, and I am so glad it has cleared up! I look after my skin as best as I can and I want everyone to aswell but I cant help those who don't want to help themselves.

Start now before it's too late!

Your skin is like a sponge, it absorbs what is around them, it can become dry, mouldy (broken skin) and it can discolour. We have uneven skin tone, pimples, uneven scars, wrinkles due to many factors including environment, stress levels, diet, lack of sleep etc. Treat your body like a temple and protect it by looking after it!
Here is some tips for you!

This is my current skin care regime! Enjoy watching it! hehe!!
Keep warm! and stay warm!
